About the Org
Cake4Kids is a 501(c)(3) providing underserved youth with positive, critical childhood experiences that build their self-esteem and help guide them toward a bright future—their very own cake in celebration of birthdays, graduations, adoptions, and academic awards. For underserved youth experiencing trauma or hardship, the simplest gesture of being seen and celebrated provides an integral component of emotional and social wellness to help carry them through their difficult circumstances.
Since our launch in late 2010, Cake4Kids has delivered more than 78,000 free, custom cakes to underserved youth ages 1-24. We proudly serve a diverse population of youth in 27 chapters across 19 states and Washington DC, baking and delivering for those who are victims of domestic violence or human trafficking, in foster care, LGBTQ+, experiencing homelessness, living below the poverty line, refugees, and unaccompanied immigrant minors. By layering our service on top of human and social services agencies’ existing programs, Cake4Kids impacts thousands of youth each year.
Cake4Kids is powered by over 7,000 amazing and compassionate volunteers who bake and decorate the cakes in their own homes and deliver them to over 1,000 human and social services agency partners. Although our concept is simple it takes a dedicated staff to manage the organization and ensure that every cake request is fulfilled.
