SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Lead Program Quality Coach, the Paraeducator will be deployed to a center to support children’s learning by providing individualized or group classroom support. This position is also responsible to assist with establishing and maintaining safe learning environments, implementation of Child Success Plans, IFSP’s, and IEP’s.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in ensuring children are properly supported with social-emotional skill development and or behavioral interventions by implementing Teaching Pyramid Strategies as directed.
Guide children and provide appropriate behavioral modeling in a variety of areas to support the children’s safe and full participation in class activities.
Assist children toward greater self-reliance, fostering independence in all learning environments.
Assist, calm, and deescalate children when demonstrating unsafe behavior.
Assist with Behavior Observation Reports as needed.
Assist in the supervision and monitoring of children during indoor and outdoor play.
Support teachers in accessing resources to promote an inclusive classroom.
Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with SJB policies and legal requirements.
Ability to travel to assigned centers based on program needs.
School Age Classrooms only: Accompany and supervise children on field trips; reinforce positive behavior in public settings; assists children in learning life skills as part of the instructional outing.
Other duties as assigned by the Site Director or Lead Program Quality Coach.
